According to LIME’s general manager, Jeffrey Baptiste the anticipation of the public is an indication that Dominicans and visitors alike place significant value on LIME’s Creole in the Park (CITP).
“We are aware that the public has been inquiring about this year’s event and we want to give patrons the assurance that LIME will be staging the eleventh edition of the LIME Creole in the Park this year”.
Mr Baptiste stated further that CITP continues to be a place where people from across the island can showcase their local talent.
This year’s event he noted is focused around the 2013 CITP’s theme “Celebrating our local talents, cuisines and art-forms”.
“We are always happy to give opportunities to our people to share their artistic, culinary and entertainment talents and therefore we continue to produce this event with them in mind.”
The official media launch of this year’s LIME CITP is scheduled for Thursday September 26th at LIME Technical & Engineering Complex at River Estate, Canefield.
At Thursdays launch the artistes forming part of this year’s event will be unveiled. Mr. Baptiste said patrons can look forward to an interesting twist to this year’s line-up.
“Our patrons are in for a treat this year which will take them on a trip down memory lane, while at the same time providing a welcome opportunity to appreciate more from our island”.
Mr. Baptiste has also promised the public another professionally organized event bringing together all the elements of Dominica’s culture including music, cuisine and arts & craft at the Botanical Gardens from October 21st to 24th, 2013.
LIME’s CITP continues to contribute to the overall economy of Dominica as gate receipts of the event are made available as contributions towards the maintenance of the Botanic Gardens managed by the Forestry, Parks and Wildlife Division.
The National Cultural Council is also a major beneficiary of the event as contributions are made to development of the island’s culture.
The LIME Creole in the Park will run from 12 noon to 7pm daily.
