A local musician who had been on trial for causing grievous bodily harm walked out the court free man on Thursday afternoon.
A four male five female jury returned a not guilty verdict in the Linden Lestrade trial at the Roseau High court on April 17, 2014.
Lestrade was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent to Greg Joseph of Roseau at Castle Comfort on Saturday October 3, 2009.
Fifteen witnesses testified for the state led by attorneys Sherma Dalrymple and Arthlyn Nesty before Justice Birnie Stephenson.
Lestrade was represented by Zena Dyer with the assistance of Michael Bruney and Gina Dyer-Munroe.
The trial which spanned six weeks commenced on March 10, 2014.
Lestrade was accused of shooting Joseph on the left side of his face.
It was revealed during the trial that Joseph, who sustained a wound of two centimetres, complained of decreased hearing of his left ear, headaches and giddiness.
