Chin, who in her pre-performance interview said the song would give her chance to delve into her culture, had the audience screaming, especially when she moved into Lady Saw’s deejay segment of the number.
“I finally heard something I was searching for,” said coach Christina Aguilera. “You were able, with this performance, to tap into your roots.”
Coach CeeLo Green said the performance made him fee “irie”, then added: “It was really impeccable”.
Chin’s coach, Adam Levine, was overjoyed, saying that the song was “tailor-made” for the Jamaican singer.
“It’s just the most perfect thing for you,” he said, adding that he was proud that they could find a way to tie Jamaica and America in the NBC TV competition.
Tonight, Chin will learn if she received enough votes to take her to the top six.
